Our Management Team
Benoist Castera brings over 30 years of hotel industry experience to Sound Hospitality. Born and raised in France, he earned a degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Bordeaux. He began his career as a CPA and practiced in various fields. Working with the hotel industry quickly became Mr. Castera's favorite and used his CPA experience for a hotel company that was owned by a large European bank, focusing on development and hotel operations all over the world.

After working in many countries, Ben chose to settle in the United States in 1982. Ten years later he joined InterAmerican Hotels Corp, the parent company of Sound Hospitality, where he began by concentrating on asset management in Miami and Washington, DC. In 1997 he was named president of Sound Hospitality and began to organize a team of professionals sharing the same views. "I believe in buidling a portfolio of human assets by developing people's personalities, giving them stability and confidence." Together, with the team he assembled Sound Hospitality strives to provide a product above their guest's expectations.
With over 26 years of hotel sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry, Michele is responsible for overseeing the sales efforts and productivity for all Sound Hospitality Management hotels. She has held this position since 2006. In her position, her objective is to ensure achievement of room and catering sales, top-line budget and RevPar goals. She holds a degree in travel management with a hospitality background in hotel sales and catering management in the South Florida area. Michele has worked with Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Hampton, Ramada, Choice, Radisson and Travelodge brands. Prior to joining Sound Hospitality Management, Michele held many direct sales positions in chain-affiliated hotels, along with the Regional Director of Sales for multi properties.

VP Sales and Marketing
Howell Hepner, a 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has held the position of Vice President of Operations for Sound Hospitality for the past 15 years. He is responsible for the operations of Sound Hospitality Management's hotels, which include IHG, Hilton and Radisson brands. In this capacity, Mr. Hepner oversees the operations, sales and marketing, renovation and repositioning of all properties.
Howell Hepner, CHA
Prior to his current position, Mr. Hepner held senior management positions with three major hotel management companies. In these positions, he oversaw both limited service and full service hotels branded under IHG, Sheraton, Radisson, Hilton, Cendant, Choice as well as independents. In these positions, he worked directly with owners which included financial, government and individual investors. The majority of these hotels were takeovers which required stabilization and in many cases major renovations.
Mr. Hepner resides in Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from University of Florida.
Director of Construction and Maintenance
Pedro Villarroel, an architectural engineer with over 25 years of experience in the construction field, has recently joined the Sound Hospitality team. Since graduating from the University of Miami in 1986, Mr. Villarroel has been involved in the construction of high profile residential and commercial buildings in the Miami area.
Currently he holds the position of Director of Construction and Maintenance, where he contracts, develops and executes construction, remodeling & maintenance projects for all Sound Hospitality's properties in the US.
